Conducted independent research using original data on the socioeconomic structure of the agricultural industry in the United States Virgin Islands. Interviewed local farmers across three islands concerning production practices, personal background, and market access. Coded interviews for themes of human, social, and economic capital. Analyzed data in order to understand the determinants of success for farmers in the Virgin Islands.
