The Cardiothoracic Surgery Data Abstractors areresponsible for the review and detailed abstraction ofcardiac registries including STS (Society of ThoracicSurgeons)cardiac registries, CHSS (Congenital HeartSurgeons Society) cardiac registries, WSPCHS (WorldSociety of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgeons) andAATS (American Association of Thoracic Surgeons)cardiac registries for clinical research, qualityimprovement, performance measurement, diseasesurveillance, and other secondary data uses.

Department of Emergency Medicine: Physician Consult/Transfer Center/Nurse Triage/COVID Hotline• Physician consult and triage line for Pediatric hospital.• Coordinate with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Critical Care Transportation system to facilitate the expedited transfer of critical pediatric patients and Neonates to hospitals. • Manage and monitor the capacity of Neonatal Intensive Care Units across the state of Ohio. • Provide initial assessment of critical intake patients arriving to Emergency Department if needed.• Developed COVID-19 Hotline, in conjunction with Infectious Disease specialists. Triaged community and physician calls. Scheduled testing appointments. • Disaster management responsibilities. Daily monitoring of census and surge potentials for two emergency departments, NICU and Behavior Health Pavilion, submitted in report to the Central Ohio Trauma System (COTS). • After-hours Nurse Triage Line for all Nationwide Children’s Hospital Primary Care Clinics and Community Physician Partners across the state.

Administrative Nursing Supervisor, Capacity Management/Transfer Center/Bed Planning/Emergency Services • Enforce hospital, nursing, and medical policies and procedures.• Manage intake, triage, and placement operations within five (5) entities of The OSUWMC system, totaling 1,600 beds from both internal and external sources of the transfer.• Collaborates with physicians to ensure accuracy in triaging and assigning patients appropriately.• Facilitates effective operation of The OSUWMC system through the supervision of clinical coordination activities related to patient throughput. • Provides detailed reports of transfer activity to Senior Leadership and Administration on daily basis. • Demonstrates quality customer service interactions with internal and external customers.• Functions as an integral part of the institution for disaster and emergency situations, both internal and external, working alongside medical and nursing staff and Leadership, to ensure swift triage and placement of victims. • Activates emergency notifications and facilitates emergency alerts for each specific program.• Monitors hospital and unit occupancy, physician service assignments, and capacity of the institution. Notifies Manager, Director, and/or Senior Leadership of impending diversion conditions.

• Manage nightshift operations of 31-bed Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit, including all staffing needs, scheduling, and patient care.• Strong clinical judgment and Acute Care expertise.• High level of autonomy and precision at prioritizing and managing deadlines.• Strong problem resolution capability, patient, and staff relations.• Adept at critical evaluation and treatment of heart failure, stroke, pulmonary hypertension, respiratory failure, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, diabetes, chest pain, intravenous insertion and therapy, complex medication and treatment regimens. • Prior experience of six (6) years in Orthopedics: management and treatment of Orthopedic surgical, and non-surgical, patients as Patient Care Associate, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Staff RN. Phlebotomy training.
