Fierce Advocate. Having spent the past nine years working to help survivors of domestic violence, I have truly become a fierce advocate for those in need.I have held a variety of positions during my time with Saint Martha's and as a practicum student pursuing my MSW. From boots-on-the-ground Shelter Advocate working directly with survivors of domestic violence to Development Coordinator working with funders, and currently, as Women's Program Director, leading a staff of amazing Advocates.Recently I obtained my Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri-St. Louis to further develop my skills and ability to serve. I received a certificate in Workplace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, which I have used to begin a DEI Committee at Saint Martha's to make the agency a better place to live and work for all people. Along with my education, I completed practicums with Christian Hospital as a medical social worker and with Good Shepherd Children and Family Services as an adoption social worker. I am currently just a few months away from receiving my LCSW.I have learned how to be a fierce advocate and that advocacy looks different in every position. From working directly with those in need to providing the support to allow this important work to continue. I have learned how much goes into providing quality services and have developed a passion for working with data and evaluation to improve quality and learn where we still need to go.I hope to pursue a new role where I can continue to grow my skills and focus my efforts on serving in a new way, beyond crisis and looking at higher level change.
