In the role, I am studying vowel harmony/disharmony and it's implications for language learning with PLU's Psychology department. This role requires the management and verification of artificially created speech stimuli as well as scripting in Praat for further automation of stimuli generation for future studies.

Gained experience with various forms of computer vision and natural language processing, preparing datasets for model training with tools like Label Studio, as well as more familiarity with AWS. This position has also strengthened my knowledge of Python and my ability to work independently or as part of a team to contribute to ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsible for grading student's assignments and assisting with lab sessions for the Introduction to Computer Science and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence courses at Pacific Lutheran University. As part of this position, TAs help students understand mistakes in the assignments as well as offer additional support and lessons to help students be successful. This position requires in-depth understanding of foundational Java, machine learning techniques, as well as the ability to adapt and problem-solve to ensure student success and understanding.

Assisted Dr. Renzhi Cao with various research projects related to protein tertiary structure prediction, especially related to using natural language processing techniques for structure prediction. My responsibilities included leading a research team of other undergraduate students, collecting and cleaning protein data, and developing a machine learning model for structure prediction.
