She first joined the firm in Nov 2016 as one of the first associates in their Kuala Lumpur office after the firm was granted a Qualified Foreign Law Firm licence to practice in Malaysia mid-2015.Cass specialises in corporate work and her experience includes advising on cross-border acquisitions, joint ventures and all other legal aspects of corporate and commercial transactions spanning a number of industries.Some of her notable experience includes:- Advised Malaysia’s largest asset manager, in relation to its joint venture with Malaysian sovereign fund, to acquire a £1.6 billion stake in the redevelopment of London’s Battersea power station - Advised a sovereign fund on its investment into a dual-GP / LP European fund structure established in France and Luxembourg targeting European assets. The fund closed at a hard cap of €5 billion- Advised one of Malaysia’s largest asset managers on its $75 million investment into a fund structure established in Delaware targeting global growth companies- Advised one of Malaysia’s largest asset managers in respect of its £111.5 million sale of one of its commercial UK real estate investment to a unit trust- Acted for a financial institution on its proposed takeover of a Bahrain domiciled Islamic banking institution- Advising a major state-owned oil company in respect of its proposed acquisition of a portfolio of vehicle testing centres in the UAE- Acted as retained counsel for a state-owned oil company in connection with its group's procurement of IT solutions and various operating agreements including fuel distribution and consignment supply agreementsCass has also spoken at a number of events including ALB Malaysia In-House Legal Summit (2018), In-House Congress (2018 and 2019) and the Corporate Counsel Conference (2018).
