As a seasonal retail employee of the Toronto Zoo I was given the opportunity to work in a team environment. I was required to handle money on a daily basis, balance my own till, provide exceptional customer service, keep working environment clean and safe for employees and guests, as well as keep the store well stocked with various merchandise. Filling various locations with the appropriate merchandise as well as making displays to better suit the products available was also a responsibility of mine.

Employed by the Nipissing Athletic Centre, for every home varsity volleyball game my responsibilities included; setting up of the nets and benches before the game, taking the stats during both the men’s’ and women’s’ games, take down of the nets after the game, and inputting the stats into the online databases after the games. For the varsity basketball games my responsibilities included; distributing tickets for games, promoting half time activities, and counting/handling money.

As a “Leader in Training” I was given the responsibilities of an individual in a Supervisor position. I was required to assign workers to cash, count out and balance tills, professionally and safely lock up locations and be responsible for up to 30 money bags within a shift. I was required to work as a team with a corresponding “L.I.T.” or Supervisor in order to communicate work that had been done or needed to still be completed. Re working the store to better display different merchandise and dealing with customer’s regards as well as making sure each staff member had a break every 4 hours were daily tasks required of me. I would also need to make sure several budgets were met in each location of my area as well as approve staff member’s shifts and complete order forms so that the several locations would be stocked and ready for business.
