Cassandra “Cassie” Staples is a Los Angeles based designer and a graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. She has worked at ILM Stagecraft as a Virtual Production TD, and ILM Immersive as a Technical Artist. Cassie is inspired by pushing the boundaries of technology to create theatrical art. She is always looking for new ways to incorporate tech with theatrics.​At 14 years old, she was in awe of lighting technicians working at her high school, and set out to work in the industry. Since high school, she has worked on the lighting design for several productions, ranging from operas, to dance productions, to musicals. Working as an electrician, programmer, assistant, and designer, she has a broad based knowledge of the lighting design process. Cassie has started branching out into other areas of design as well, such as projection design. During the pandemic, she embarked on a different form of production design. Cassie was inspired by the real time rendering of Unreal and once again, set out to work in the industry. She has worked on several separate projects as an Unreal Developer and a Maya modeler and loves rendering 3D models of dramatic and weird ideas.Let’s work together soon!
