I worked on a variety of research projects in collaboration with the Psychology, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mathematics, and Human & Computer Interaction departments. These projects ranged from early detection of ovarian and pancreatic cancers to estimating the number of wrongfully convicted people still incarcerated to designing experiments and using psychometric models to validate student assessments. I co-authored two published papers and had my work presented at multiple conferences including the Royal Statistical Society, SIGCSE (Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education), IES (Institute for Education Sciences), and ACSAC (Annual Computer Security Applications Conference). I also taught undergraduate statistics and programming courses - both introductory and advanced. I was awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award for advising seniors in Advanced Data Analysis. One group I advised, which extended my work on the early detection of cancer, won an honorable mention at Carnegie Mellon’s student research showcase.
