I am currently the Art & Organizational Facilitator with the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. I coordinate and instruct, track, monitor, and regularly report on quality art implementation at all of our organizations YouthQuest sites. I also organize and maintain all offsite storage and onsite program supplies that are used by staff and students within our program. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Identifying grade/age appropriate art curriculum for year-round implementation.Providing staff training both onsite and at professional development sessions.Working with 7-12 grade curriculum consultants to develop unique lessons and build an art community. Working to organize, integrate, and maintain supplies used by the YouthQuest Program.Create organized, updated inventory lists and develop procedures for check-in/check-out.With over 6 years of direct experience as an educator and mentor, as well as my education in psychology, I have learned how to focus my skills to have a greater impact on youth and adults within an at risk community. My specific skills are as follows:Proficient knowledge and experience in teaching methods and the education standards.Competent at evaluating data and judging its consistencies with education standards.Experienced in skill building techniques, enrichment activities, and behavioral redirection.Effective coordination skills that help liaise between activities across multiple levels.Experienced with inputting business data into a computer system.My immediate goals are to continue to learn and expand on my skills, to obtain my degree and move forward in my major, and ultimately use my experience and education to work with at risk children/adults through the use of art therapy.
