About Cassandra Soderstrom

I am currently working in a split role at Greenpeace UK, as Partnerships & Events Officer. In my partnerships role, I help manage the relationship with one of our most important partners, engaging them with our work, our fundraising activities, and our campaigning plans. I facilitate key relationships by providing fundraising and support, ensuring that all correspondence is personalised, to a high standard and managed in a timely manner - and develop resources and communications to continue current partnerships, steward relationships and report on partnership impact. With my events hat on, I deliver a range of donor events end-to-end, from conception and planning through to delivery and analysis/reporting including our biggest in-person events of the year. My academic interests are in the field of Human Rights, especially in regards to matters concerning the environment. My MA Thesis - 'Meddling with the Climate: Geoengineering in the Anthropocene' - contextualised the concept within the wider human-nature relationship, and assessed it against both social and environmental frameworks, including human rights and planetary boundaries. Prior to that, my undergraduate thesis - 'Industrial Accidents or Crimes Against Peace? A case study of oil extraction in the Niger Delta' - explores the concept of Ecocide and its possible ethical implications.
