I am a skilled educator and writer that has spent years honing the pedagogy of teaching. I have taught all grade levels from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. I have found that the most rewarding parts of teaching are when I am able to share a book with a student while opening their eyes to the deeper meanings and beauty of the language. Or encouraging a struggling writer to dig deep to find their story, the story that helps them to see themselves as a writer.As I grow and learn more about myself as a person I have had a deep realization that I am meant to write. I do enjoy teaching and teaching writing is a dream, but to write my own pieces and to focus my energies on improving and developing those skills sounds like the best job in the world. Work that doesn't feel like work!I have also spent several years exploring the world of dyslexia and how the dyslexic brain works. I am working toward certification in a program that teaches dyslexic students to read and spell. This program is absolutely amazing and I have seen amazing growth in the students that I work with. I would love to someday write to empower dyslexics and make people aware of the amazing super power that dyslexia is!Overall, I have a deep love and passion for learning and growing, especially if it involves reading and writing. All types of writing are fun to try but I probably love writing and developing stories and curriculum that engages students and makes them fall in love with learning (and reading and writing of course)!
