I work in private practice as a psychotherapist and I am also studying for a masters degree in Psychology at Stirling University. I work with a variety of clients dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, young adults struggling to launch their lives, older clients confronting life-long issues, those at the bottom of the socio-economic scale and CEOs of major institutions.I have interests in research into the therapeutic potential of Psilocybin, meditative practice and spiritual belief systems as an inevitable consequence (and therefore necessary element) of human cognition.I am also interested in policy level change to improve the mental health of the public as a whole, to create a stronger, more resilient, creative and fulfilled populace. This also includes the effects of increasing use of AI and algorithmically mediated social media, preying on human vulnerabilities, such as the dopaminergic system and systems that silo interest groups rather than expand communication potential allowing greater inter-group understanding.I am an advocate for men's mental health, through addressing positive male role models, familial responsibilities and rights and a data-driven understanding of best outcomes for children, which include involved dads. I am a father myself of two sons and live with my partner in East Lothian.
