By offering myself as an employee to area businesses I help them on finding their niche and growing their strengths to become THE VERY BEST at what they want to be known for. I do not tip-toe around weaknesses but work on managing them and get the whole business team to exemplify the companies ideals and offer the best product and service to their customers. Once the business is healthy and the customers are happy, we as a team develop a marketing strategy highlighting the strengths to invite new customers into their business. This can be done through grassroots, mass media, online and community involvement. Together all businesses can be known for something great - it is my job to find their greatness and tell the world about it.

Using my extensive background and passion for the agricultural industry and the people who keep our world fed I found Ozarks Farm and Neighbor to be the perfect publication to celebrate those people that live right here in southwest Missouri. We also provided readers a Farm Hand directory that showcased what products were sold at the locations, which helped with ease when looking for a specific product or service. Taking an already successful publication in Missouri and adding a publication for both Arkansas and Oklahoma we were able to reach more producers and ag business owners all while educating and entertaining farmers big and small. My part was to work with business owners on reaching those interested in their product and how to stand out from the pack. We worked on marketing campaigns, internal promotions, farm safety clinics, nutrition clinics, product placement and education and strong business practices. My skills included: print layout and design, social marketing, sales training, ag marketing and business growth both for Ozarks Farm and Neighbor as well as my advertisers.

While working with one of our countries top ag research and extension agencies, I was able to gather information on a daily bases on timely and topical research to create press-releases to send out to leaders in the agricultural industry, USDA, and mass media on breakthroughs and updates on everything from wind-energy to grain science to animal health.

As a summer intern my daily activities included gathering research information, association updates, livestock market members requests and agricultural industry information to write timely press releases and update website and online communication elements. I was part of the team that prepared, marketed and executed the 2004 World Auctioneering Competition.
