Learning about oneself is necessary in life. For me it’s about family history, learning where I came from, the culture, the experiences, and sometimes even learning about the food. With desires to travel the world and getting to know others through documents, familial history has become a major part of my life. Serving a mission in Washington, I didn’t travel too far from my home but it expanded my horizons in learning about others. As my research progresses, I have learned about the needs for different family histories throughout the world. Helping others to gain connections with their families brings so much joy but also finding ways to get the documents not already accessible has created a new interest for me.
