This restaurant and bar is a lunch and dinner establishment committed to having raving fans, a positive work environment, and always serving hot and delicious food. Servers are expected to know the general description of every position in the restaurant so that the flow of service is immaculate and they understand and are aware of their other coworkers. Servers must follow dress code, keep up with their shiftly duties, and are prompted to help other servers and any other staff as needed. This restaurant puts a big emphasis on making raving fans and encourages that servers also try to express this with great service, positive attitude, and always making sure the customer leaves satisfied.As a bartender for the Rusty Bucket, we are held to every standard that the servers are; knowing each ingredient on the menu from food to drinks, coming to work in proper uniform, and upholding the standard for customer care. Bartenders are required to come to work to do preparations based on their knowledge of how much the restaurant usually would require for the day (ie. how many lemons to juice, how much margarita mix to make, etc.) and continue to do side work and preparations for the day or next shift throughout their assigned shift. It is also important to know staple cocktails and keep up to date on what liquors the bar has and if anything is 86. Once this experience is gained, managers rely on bartenders to do some supervisory tasks for servers and for the restaurant.

Circle K is a truck stop/gas station. Workers main responsibility is opening and/or closing, keeping count on their drawers, monitoring the shelved goods and gas purchases, and having a positive attitude when dealing with customers. Throughout shift workers must complete simple tasks around the gas station that might include making coffee, cleaning machinery, replacing empty refreshments, making foods, cleaning floors and bathrooms/shower rooms, filling up propane tanks, etc.

Canal Winchester, Ohio

The Inn at Winchester Trails is a nursing home. The position of dietary server includes getting to know the residents, layout of the home, and the menu. Servers are regularly required to set up the dining room and go over the foods being served at that meal and then take drink and food orders from assigned section, make sure all servers are ready for serving, then serving food to all residents. A main emphasis is put on getting to know the residents, making sure they are happy, and being able to anticipate any needs or wants they would want at their home. Servers are expected to be aware of the residents and be alert to any medical emergency or incident that would require the help of one of the many health care workers in the building to be requested. After meals servers are required to clean the dining hall and kitchen entirely. On holidays and special occasions servers should be able to accomplish other simple tasks, such as setting a welcoming environment for the residents.

Cheers Chalet is a food catering business/wedding building. In food catering environments servers are required to pleasantly serve food to the event guests and continuously make sure the event is orderly; clean up trash, empty plates, empty drinks, etc. Servers also may be responsible to help the kitchen staff set up and plate starters, entrees, desserts for guests. In a wedding situation servers are required perfectly to set the galley, dining room, and any other rooms being occupied during the event. Water glasses should be full at all times and servers will serve all courses and remain pleasant throughout service. Take down of the event usually includes the wedding party being present, so servers should politely and efficiently clean up and help guests with what they want to keep, carefully handling, boxing, and transporting said items to designated areas.
