EcoReps are a group of students who work in conjunction with the Bates Sustainability office on projects to make the Bates campus a more sustainable place. As a part of the Energy Solutions group I have worked on electrifying the Bates vehicle fleet, improving building efficency, and investing in heat to air pumps.

The Bonner Leader Program through the Bates Harward Center for Community Partnerships combines community engagement and meaningful discussion with other leaders. I have worked in a variety of different programs. I worked in a pre-school classroom, a cooking club for elementary schoolers, an after-school soccer program, an after-school homework tutoring, and working with the Androscoggin Land Trust.

BNRG Dirigo Solar is a large-scale solar developer with offices in Dublin and Maine. As the Renewable energy intern, I assisted the team on all stages of the development process. Throughout the summer I assisted on site origination. This consisted of utilizing GIS, Transect, and Google Earth to determine locations with grid and land capacity for potential projects. I also tracked and created guideline measures to determine how policy changes in Maine would affect current and new solar arrays. The central project of the internship was conducting economic and policy research to track up-and-coming markets across the US and Canada, creating a tracker for the rest of the team to use and build upon after my internship.

The Community Office for Resource Efficiency works on energy efficiency projects in the built environment. My role as the summer intern entailed organizing events that had over 100 attendees, and creating social media campaigns. I also assisted colleagues with data entry in SalesForce and Energy Star Portfolio Manager and tracking building energy use for the city of Aspen. Through this experience, I gained important communication and time management skills.
