Every year, the Kappa Delta Sorority Sigma Iota chapter holds the Reach for the Sky Auction in order to raise money to support the Prevention Program at Seattle Children's Hospital. The Prevention Program spreads awareness to new parents about Shaken Baby Syndrome and the Period of Purple Crying. In the past, we were able to break the national record for the amount of money raised by any Greek organization in a single night. The Annual Reach for the Sky auction has significantly impacted thousands of lives. As the decorations chair, I have the unique opportunity to help create the event. I was able to spend a significant amount of time working with the main auction chair in order to coordinate with the venue on ballroom arrangements, logistics, and fine-tuning everything down to the most minor details. Our auction is making an incredible difference to every new parent at Seattle Children's and making the event an unforgettable night is the most important part of the job.
