Profile bio

About Cassidy Ballard

I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Pharmacology. I am focused on pursing a Masters Entry-Level Nursing degree and further working to become a Nurse Practitioner. As a graduate, I directed my focus wholly onto healthcare and gained experience working as a medical assistant under an orthopedic surgeon. I was trained as both a front and back office medical assistant and have grown very comfortable within my role as a patient advocate, surgery scheduler, and, as the job title states, medical assistant. While in college, I was involved in ecological restoration research with the Cheadle Center of Ecological and Biodiversity Restoration and worked in the Marine Science Institute. I aimed to explore my various interests while on the road to my undergraduate degree before I directed my focus almost entirely onto healthcare. I am very passionate about empowering women to pursue careers in STEM fields. I have been given the opportunity to do this through my long-term involvement with Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies and my involvement with Health Professions Association. I also seek to lead other students through their college careers as a mentor and a tutor, which I have been happily able to do as an upperclassmen and graduate.

Listed skills include Leadership, Teamwork, Communication, Public Speaking, and 3 others.
