As a PLSG extern in the Office of Bill Drafting and Research at the Legislative Services Agency, I monitored committee meetings, drafted bills and amendments, conducted statutory research for staff attorneys and legislators, and reviewed new laws for technical and substantive corrections.

As an intern at a criminal defense firm I performed discovery review, researched legal issues ranging from licensure retention to the constitutionality of police policies to the application of new statutes to old legal issues, and prepared legal memoranda and file-ready motions.

As the bicentennial intern I documented IU East history. Along with other student workers in the library, I indexed and categorized archived student newspapers from the 1970s to present. The biggest focus of the project was to record and collect Alumni Oral Histories, where alumni were invited to campus to talk about their experience and memories of IU East. We began our project by focusing on the 79 faculty and staff who have degrees from IU East, concentrating on Alumni Hall of Fame inductees and other outstanding alumni this semester. I produced semesterly presentations of materials to be shown at university system-wide bicentennial gatherings on the IU Bloomington campus as well as blogs highlighting common themes between alumni.

As a supplemental instructior for Physics I would sit in on classes, act as a liaison between the students and professor, and hold several review sessions each week to allow students to better understand the material.

I catalogued a 1,600 item donated collection before structuring the physical and online organization of the collection and creating a metadata access plan. I also worked with patrons as the point-person for individual research requests, explaining the various research tools available to Ball State affiliates and the structure of collections held in the archives.
