Southern Timber is a hand painted sign business that specializes in retail signs and event rental signs. I started this business in October of 2014. In the first month of doing business Southern Timber signs were placed in a home decorating store in West Knoxville. I then decided to add on the event rental signs aspect of the business and am currently renting out signs to brides and event planners for the 2016 wedding season.

In my current role at Designsensory I have many different responsibilities. I assist the Project Manager by tracking media plans with several different clients to ensure the ads are being created on time and up to standard. I am heavily involved in the brand renovation of a multi-site company and have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, contacting vendors, analyzing graphics to ensure the client will be satisfied, producing documents for client viewing and assisting in the scheduling of all designers and content writers. I have been exposed to many different aspects of media planning and project management throughout this internship and am learning more every day.

During my time at Plumbline Services I was mostly involved in redeveloping their website. Throughout this process I was responsible for researching companies in similar markets to discover up and coming trends as well as the "do's and don'ts" of website design. While being in this role I was able to sit it on meetings with website development companies and was able to experience project management in marketing from a clients point of view. I assisted the social media team by writing relevant blogs and promoted company morale by researching and creating team building exercises. Lastly, I monitored phone calls between call representatives and the client to ensure that we were providing the best service possible, every time.

I have been the Production Assistant for this television show for the past two years. The filming for each season lasts four days. Throughout the filming I am responsible for taking notes for the Producer and Editor so that the editing process is easier. I also help with guests by making sure they are taken care of throughout the whole interview filming. Being a part of this series has allowed me to be exposed to the fast paced environment of production as well as the importance of event management throughout the filming process.

Hunter Valley Farm gave me my first experience in event planning. During this internship I was able to see the process all the way through. I attended planning meetings both internally and externally, helped design each event and then worked the event. I became an integral part in the event planning process by offering my opinion on design as well as managing the actual event. During the event, I would work along side all of the different vendors. This taught me how to work well as a team while still maintaining control. I was able to see all the details that go into event planning and experience how important customer service is both with your client and your vendors.
