The Prosecution Clinic allows third year law students to litigate as prosecutors under the supervision of experienced licensed prosecutors in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes pursuant to Rule XX of the Louisiana Supreme Court. Students in the prosecution section participate in a range of legal activities including legal research, interviewing victims and witnesses, preparing police officers and others to testify, calling the docket, advocating at preliminary hearings, conducting direct and cross examination of witnesses, arguing motions, preparing writ applications, helping pick juries and delivering opening and closing statements. Loyola Law runs the only prosecution clinic in the New Orleans area.

The Wicker Smith Summer Associate Program focuses on civil litigation defense, which included hands-on training, participation in depositions, mediations and trials as well as and assisting on research-based projects. Throughout the summer, I participated in weekly training sessions focusing on the inner workings of a litigation firm. I worked closely with my partner and associate mentors, as well as the professional staff, allowing myself to grow as an aspiring attorney while contributing my skills and knowledge to the team at Wicker Smith.

Research included substantive criminal law, civil procedure rules and case law, and rules of evidence and their application in a variety of cases.
