Engineer in charge of a high production quality lab. Regular work involved writing complex CMM programs and creating CAD models for inspection for new products, as well as supporting over three hundred regularly run production programs. I also initiated several projects to improve efficiency and ergonomics for quality technicians, cutting hours off of daily measurement tasks while improving measurement accuracy.Notable improvements: - Created and tested hundreds of programs to upgrade the division to the modern hardware and software used by the rest of the company - Designed and manufactured fixtures to reduce mounting a part on CMM from minutes to seconds - Created a system that eliminated manual alignment of parts on a CMM, even when switching between hundreds of programs or running the same program on different machines - Created custom software to read and format data that was imported via foot petal or button press from several manual measurement instruments - Created dashboards that allowed for easier access to product programs and data, for both manual and machine measurements - Integrated export for key features from manual and CMM measurements to newly purchased SPC software - Created a control system so that programs could not be modified or deleted without approval and verified manual data for errors or omissions - Analyzed part data to discovered process improvements both within the company and for vendors - Analyzed new measuring equipment for inclusion in an automated measuring cell - Scripted VBA code for quality engineers to more quickly gather data from multiple sources into a single format - Wrote code to generate CMM programs given standard product information
