Cassie’s primary responsibilities include co-authoring NEPA documents; conducting wetland and stream delineations and other environmental field investigations; performing Initial Site Assessments (ISA); preparing biological evaluations for threatened and endangered species and jurisdictional waters and wetlands; and assisting in preparing spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and sediment control plans. Additional responsibilities include collecting reconnaissance level environmental data in support of large scale impact analyses, contributing to in preliminary engineering studies, and coordinating with various federal, state, and local environmental agencies.Cassie has conducted numerous Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) per ASTM guidelines, designed and conducted environmental risk assessments, completed Alternative Analyses and Functions and Services Assessments to satisfy Section 404 permitting requirements, designed and drafted wetland and stream mitigation plans, conducted water quality monitoring and in situ sampling, performed industrial hygiene and air quality investigations, and participated in wetland construction. She has technical expertise in statistical analyses and quantitative vegetation-structure measurements and is a trained ornithologist and mammalogist. Additionally, Cassie is a permitted biologist for conducting surveys of the endangered American Burying Beetle, Nicrophorus americanus.
