As a member of the Learning and Development team, I have the great pleasure of updating and enhancing learning and personnel development opportunities at DRMP.

Ask around and you'll find Quimbee is a law student's go-to study aid to get them through law school. As an instructional designer at Quimbee, I was privileged to work along side a talented team dedicated to enhancing legal learning. Partnering with subject matter experts and using sound multimedia design, I was able to bring a written case brief to life. Whether for study aids, courses, or legal professional development, I combined Quimbee's approach to design with my knowledge of learning to create an impactful multimedia learning product.

Being an instructional technology coach for AASD, I was entrusted to onboard staff members into new technologies and plan and lead various whole group, department, and individual professional development for my building and the district. As curriculum writing teams were formed to redevelop school curriculum, I supported several content teams through the design of digital course materials. Adding to school culture, I was entrusted to manage our recording studio, green screen, and live streamed events, as well as edit prerecorded productions. After Canvas LMS was adopted, I managed the administration panel at North High school. Through the pandemic and only with the collaborative support of the technology coach team, I was able to support North High School through the transition of learning from in-person to virtual and hybrid modes of learning.

Working with students seeking remediation or looking to work ahead, I taught the summer semesters for eSchool Civics and World History. Though it can be challenging to connect with students in a 100% digital environment, carefully planned assignments and verbal assessment allowed me to build those connections.

Being an Appleton West staff member was an honor and a privilege. Working alongside the most dedicated staff, I was able to cultivate a classroom environment for all students to learn and feel welcome. During my tenure at West, I taught World History, Global Studies, US History, and Psychology. The biggest keys to keeping my diverse groups of students engaged was building meaningful relationships, purposefully planned instruction, and meaningful use of classroom technologies. Designing with the end in mind, I was able to transform US History from learning a list of events to being a thematic inquiry guided by deep, meaningful questions. This transformation inspired the curriculum re-write for US History across the district.

In the whirlwind that is a first year teaching, I was excited to teach a wide variety of subjects including World History, US History, Cultural Geography, Psychology, and Sociology. Working in a smaller school district, I had several students for multiple class periods a day, allowing me to build strong connections with students. Teaching so many subjects each day also required top notch planning and preparation, which I perfected as the year progressed. With access to 1:1 carts, I utilized available technologies at bring student learning to life, including setting up a Skype call with a teacher in Nigeria during a Cultural Geography unit.
