Cass has over a decade of experience working with information technology. She began her career with Booz Allen as an independent validator of major US Army information systems, ensuring that they were in compliance with identified requirements. She then worked with various intelligence organizations in the Washington DC area, identifying customer needs in the area of emerging satellite communications capabilities. After several years, she leveraged her growing professional reputation and became an independent consultant, advising large government contracting firms in the areas of requirements analysis and web technology. When she moved to San Diego, she returned to Booz Allen, supporting the US Navy Certification Authority as a technical reviewer of system security plans and authorization agreements. Eventually she joined the civil service in support of the Navy Certification Authority, to lead efforts to improve the Department of Navy’s IT security certification and accreditation (CA) process. Cass launched Taranet, Inc in July of 2007. She founded the company in order to work within an innovative and supportive corporate culture. Modeled after Google and Pixar, Taranet reflects her belief that the workplace should be an oasis in an increasingly frantic world.
