I served as the Program Coordinator for External Quality Assurance Program Oversight Laboratory (EQAPOL) NIAID government contract, which supports the development, implementation, and oversight of external quality assurance programs that monitor laboratories involved in HIV/AIDS research and vaccine trials around the world. Coordination for this program included tracking monthly and quarterly reporting, collaborating with interdisciplinary groups across Duke to monitor progress reports and milestones, and organizing, documenting, and distributing materials for programmatic meetings. I coordinated conference calls with project leaders, global EQAPOL site participants, and/or other collaborators. I reviewed documentation for all external quality assurance proficiency testing send-outs including reagent/inventory preparation, schedule monitoring, tracking of controlled documents, and support of quality assurance oversight.

Project: Impacts of Indirect Dietary Exposure Risk Assessment Modeling and Changing Global Regulations on Human Health Risk Assessment and Product Development of Residential Use Pesticides I reviewed a pre-market pesticide formula for toxicological and human safety concerns and regulatory compliance by conducting a human health risk assessment. I evaluated study data, relevant published literature, and utilized computer exposure modeling software to complete the assessment and verify product claims. Additionally, I analyzed and contrasted global indirect dietary risk assessment models in the context of the formula. Information from this analysis was used to advise the company in the development of standard operating procedures. This required distilling scientific and complex subject matter across business functions and international teams.

I provided clerical support for the College of Public Health and Human Sciences Academic Advising Office, including scheduling academic advising appointments and leading orientations for new and first-year students. I served as the point-of-contact for support services for students and acted as a student representative during student outreach programs, career presentations, and campus tours.
