Michigan Chamber for Reproductive Justice (MCRJ) is Michigan's first comprehensive reproductive justice organization. It is important to fight equally for (1) the right to have a child; (2) the right not to have a child; and (3) the right to parent the children we have, as well as to control our birthing options, such as midwifery.MCRJ will further expand this definition to include birthing and non-birthing people, regardless of their identity. We seek to create a protective framework that reflects the intersections of our identities and how that informs the connection to reproductive and sexual wellness.

The Michigan Board of Medicine was originally formed with the enactment of Public Act 237 of 1899. The Public Health Code mandates certain responsibilities and duties for a health professional licensing board. Underlying all duties is the responsibility of the board to promote and protect the public's health, safety, and welfare. This responsibility is implemented by the Board by ascertaining minimal entry level competency of medical doctors, and requiring continuing medical education during licensure. The Board also has the obligation to take disciplinary action against licensees who have violated the Michigan Public Health Code.

The Housing Department at Ruth Ellis Center exists to connect youth and their families to safe and stable housing. REC currently operates two housing programs, Rapid ReHousing and the Kelly Stough Project. Clairmount Center, the Center’s permanent supportive housing program, is anticipated to open in July of 2022.KELLY STOUGH PROJECTProgram Description: The Kelly Stough Project, named to honor the memory of a lost member of the Ruth Ellis Center community, serves survivors of human trafficking who identify as LGBTQ+. RAPID RE-HOUSING PROGRAMREC’s Rapid Re-Housing program helps LGBTQ+ youth (and eligible family members) quickly stabilize their housing so they can focus on pursuing their personal goals.

I serve as Founder and Executive Director. We are a body positive, 501c3 non-profit organization that connects women around to resources to help recognize and reject negative societal perceptions.My Key Achievements for this role:• Created body positive initiatives across multiple locations in Asia, Africa, and the US.• Established inclusive programming designed to celebrate and educate diverse identities in reproductive justice and sexual health, economic stability, domestic violence and fat justice.Created the International Fuller Woman Expo in 3 countries to empower the plus-size woman to recognize her internal and external beauty; to educate and motivate through workshops and seminars, while providing information on the products and/or services available to them.

At BTAN, I am the Advocacy Chair of the Detroit chapter, I facilitate the space for Black leaders to build collective power through intersectionality to end the AIDS epidemic. Its chapter-based structure offering for public health and racial justice advocates, as well as the HIV workforce, as it is designed to empower local leaders who know their community and can tailor their efforts to specific needs in each community. Unapologetically Black, inclusive, and informed by the community.

My work with my non-profit, The International Fuller Woman Network, around body positivity, reproductive justice, and sexual health led me to become a national speaker for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) in 2018. In 2019, I was hired as the Black Organizing Program Coordinator, the first person in Planned Parenthood's history to ever hold this title. Key Accomplishments:• Black Organizing Program Manager for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan (PPAM), where I share best practices and strategies from my career in social justice to help more effectively engage Black folks and other communities of color across all of PPAM's constituencies programs. • Cassy develops a national curriculum around race equity principles in organizing for PPFA. She also informs PPFA's internal patient advocacy framework through the national PAP task force for Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide.• Developed a Solidarity Sponsorship that gave unrestricted funds to organizations working in within the reproductive justice framework.

During my role as Event Manager/Executive Board Chair, I have delivered proactive nonprofit assistance for survivors of domestic violence to become financially self-sufficient. It is also the main part of my day-to-day responsibilities to maintain consistent coordination with the Executive Director with a keen focus on ensuring the proper execution of programs in adherence to the core mission of economic empowerment. I also executed citywide community initiatives with hundreds in attendance.My Key Achievements for this role:• Delivered effective guidance and counseling services on tangible economic solutions during a crisis.• Maintained consistent coordination with various media outlets on behalf of the organization while serving as Board Chair.• Trauma-informed practices in need assessment and collaborative strategic safety planning to help survivors of domestic safely find resources

The Pretty Girl Prom Project, set to launch in November 2009, will be the first of a series of events throughout the year. It is geared to helping girls realize their prom dreams while giving them the essential tools needed as they cross the threshold from adolescence to adulthood.
