I joined NKD as Creative (Graphic) Design Lead, and within 4 years my skills and expertise grewbeyond the initial role I applied for. Rapidly, I became a source of inspiration to my teammates on waysof working, suggesting improvements to processes and document organization, as wellas creative concepts. Within 1 year, I was invited to extend my contract beyond the initiallyagreed maternity leave cover. I became part of the Innovation team and designeddigital products for their eComm platform. I developed work where I collaborated with differentinternal teams and helped evolve the internal expression of the company’s brand basedon feedback from colleagues and the organization leaders. I also had a key role in improvingour social media content. I produced design concepts and templates for client projects.Examples of some of the work that I developed at this agency are Graphic Design and UX/UI of digital eLearning products. Support in the redesign of the company’s website. Creation of illustration style and system for internal brand expression and social media assets. Motion graphics and animation, concepts for team training, including slideshow and environment design.

During the time that I worked with Point6’s team, one of the major clients of theorganization (Philips Lighting) went through a significant rebrand and strategy,becoming ‘Signify’ — a house of lighting products, and Internet of Things(IoT) systems.Within this group, ‘Interact’ was born and replaced ‘Philips Lighting’. During this makeover,the team helped with the rebranding process — led by the design agency ‘FutureBrand’— to create a universal graphic language and marcom toolkit for ‘Interact’. I’ve workedclosely with the copywriting team, designing the first version of a brochure in the newbrand, and telling a visual story with information graphics and photography. We’ve turnedcomplex technological terms into simple visuals and wording and explained the benefitsof systems that are designed for the IoT and smart devices. At this team, I also had thechance to develop my digital skills and work with an external team of developersthroughout the rebranding of a great number of website page migrations. Other projectsthat I was involved with, were the design of newsletters, and social media content — liaisingwith external developer teams. This allowed me to better recognize opportunities to applymy ideas and to create work that is functional and well-designed.

From 2014 to 2017, in between full-time roles, I worked as Graphic Design freelancer for property clients, and Marketing agencies in London including OMD EMEA, FOUR Communications, Wildhorse, me&dave, amongst others. This experience allowed me to create various logo designs for sub-brands, and develop print collateral such as brochures, flyers, advertising for newspapers, outdoors, signage, and construction site panels (hoarding) to promote sales.

At this Design and Advertising agency, I crafted concepts for the promotion of refurbished office buildings, and industrial warehouses. I created graphic identities that comprised logotype design, cohesive print layouts applied to several print formats, and web design. Some of this work went through new business concepts until the implementation phases. Other examples of work created: Map illustration, digital newsletters, and marketing.

While freelancing for the Portuguese Non-Profit organization, "Operação Nariz Vermelho" (Red Nose Operation), I had the privilege to support an amazing group of people with a background in theatre and performative arts, who bring comedy relief to children battling cancer. With my design work, events were promoted in monthly newsletters, and the organization’s achievements were communicated through annual reports. I massively developed my skills in pagination, layout, collateral, time management, and project delivery.

At this start-up based in Portugal, I created brands for urban projects, and also developed concept work for advertising campaigns.Examples of work: Print, Editorial Design, Advertising, Branding, Post-Production

At this events' agency, I created the branding for mid-large scale events, from the concept stage until brand implementation, for both large-scale ads as well as merchandising and micro-websites. I had also contact with external suppliers, closely monitoring production times in partnership with my colleagues from the event management team.Examples of work: Graphic Design, Illustration, Branding & Identity creation. Image retouching and artwork.

I joined the team behind Op. Magazine whilst finishing my Post-Graduation degree. This experience was great to build resilience against working under pressure and dealing with tight production times. I designed the layout of about 2 thirds of the magazine content in each edition, was responsible for the artwork, and creation of print-ready files. This was a particularly enriching experience and helped me to gain insight into many design processes that I haven’t been taught at University, for instance, cohesive layout and advanced grid structures, different stages of editorial design, image retouching, and artwork of spreads for pre-production.
