I'm proud to have founded a school in my hometown, inspired by the lack of educational opportunities I experienced growing up. In 2014, I began this journey, meticulously planning and building a purpose-driven school. I prioritized strategic hiring and thorough staff training to align with our vision. Drawing from a principal residency in Brooklyn, NY, I learned from the best to ensure our success. Our results not only surpassed the local district in both reading and math by double digits but I also worked to replicate our model for other schools in our region and supported school leaders prior to permanently transitioning to New York City where I now live. In addition to my work in education, we've successfully built a real estate investing portfolio to 7+ figures despite minimal prior knowledge. We swiftly acquired several units, including a commercial multifamily building and a short-term rental property (www.UprisePropertyGroup.com). Additionally, I serve as an educational consultant with my company, Legacy Group Consulting, leveraging over 15+ years of educational experience to enhance instructional practices and leadership development at all levels.Furthermore, I proudly serve as the board chair of The Brooklyn Bank, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering communities of color, especially in Brooklyn (www.TheBroolynBank.com). Through The Brooklyn Bank, we promote financial literacy and freedom with various initiatives, including free events supporting black and brown business owners, financial literacy workshops in high schools, and community engagement events such as our annual turkey giveaway and summer block party.Finally, our latest business venture focuses on acquiring small businesses in NYC, where we work closely with brokers and owners to preserve their legacies and optimize business growth by targeting consecutive growth of at least 20% year-over-year.
