I collaborate with the GOCO Board, staff, stakeholders, and partners to guide GOCO's land protection work, informing and driving strategic direction, and implementing and evaluating GOCO's competitive grant programs related to land protection.

- Negotiating and preparing conservation easements, trail easements, contracts, intergovernmental agreements, agricultural leases, amendments and other land acquisition and stewardship documents on the County's behalf.- Performing acquisition due diligence review, that typically includes ordering and reviewing appraisals, environmental reports, mineral assessments, title commitments, surveys and others as necessary to ensure clear title and minimize liability in these transactions. - Educating and communicating with landowners, the public, citizen advisory boards, county commissioners, partner boards and councils, to accomplish high-quality land conservation and stewardship.Primary Projects:A. Project manager on a first-of-its-kind Alternative Transfer Method (ATM) water sharing partnership funded by successful grants from the Colorado Water Conservation Board and Gates Family Foundation. This conservation project accomplished perpetual irrigated farmland conservation while addressing the predicted water supply gap that could dry up 50% of South Platte farms by 2050 without innovative approaches like this. This $4M deal closed in August 2017 leveraging 46% of the total acquisition costs.B. Project team on the Horsetooth Foothills conservation project funded by Great Outdoors Colorado that is adding thousands of acres to existing conservation and recreational areas west of Fort Collins.C. County lead on the Poudre River Trail conservation project through partnerships with Greeley and Windsor, funded by Great Outdoors Colorado, conserving 5+ properties along the trail and river corridor.D. County lead on the Ward Trust conservation project with the City of Loveland, in partnership with the Trust for Public Land and funded by Great Outdoors Colorado to preserve Big Thompson River uplands and habitat buffers as well as active irrigated farming and potential future education and recreation opportunities.

Researched and drafted legal and policy documents for pioneering greenhouse gas and air pollution litigation in federal and state courts in California, Colorado and Washington, D.C. as part of the Vermont Law School Semester-in-Practice program for the Climate & Air legal team. Formulated supporting arguments for novel environmental initiatives at legislative and regulatory levels, such as the new emission reduction requirements for oil and gas wells and higher efficiency requirements for new motor vehicles. Researched and drafted supporting policy materials for Colorado River initiatives by the Land, Water & Wildlife team.

Developed a new youth sailing program at a satellite site, supervising 2 U.S. Sailing certified instructors and instructing 20+ students per day between the ages of 7 and 16 years old. Personally responsible for the safety and quality of daily instruction. Implemented the organization’s mission by teaching sailing stewardship, responsibility and independence to children.

3-month internship extended to 6-month maximum. Participated in groundbreaking enforcement procedures in NH, including helping implement the red-tag enforcement mechanism that prohibits deliveries to non-compliant underground storage tanks.
