This conservation project accomplished perpetual irrigated farmland conservation while addressing the predicted water supply gap that could dry up 50% of South Platte farms by 2050 without innovative approaches like this. This $4M deal closed in August 2017 leveraging 46% of the total acquisition costs.B. Project team on the Horsetooth Foothills conservation project funded by Great Outdoors Colorado that is adding thousands of acres to existing conservation and recreational areas west of Fort Collins.C. County lead on the Poudre River Trail conservation project through partnerships with Greeley and Windsor, funded by Great Outdoors Colorado, conserving 5+ properties along the trail and river corridor.D. County lead on the Ward Trust conservation project with the City of Loveland, in partnership with the Trust for Public Land and funded by Great Outdoors Colorado to preserve Big Thompson River uplands and habitat buffers as well as active irrigated farming and potential future education and recreation opportunities.
