Graduated in July 2014 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology, Geophysics & Applied Geology.Other areas of study within my degree include:Statistics, Physics, Biology, Botany, Philosophy, Astronomy, Economics, & Spatial Science.

Assisting research geologists with a number of tasks including, but not limited to; preparing a variety of samples (XRD, core, crushing, grinding etc.), running the mill in the crushing room, recording weights of samples before and after testing.

Analysis of large sets of data primarily including: geochemical, biostratigraphy, palynology and lithological units for entry into an Oracle database which is used by SAGeodata; entry of this data required it to be collated into Excel spreadsheets. This data can then be viewed by the public in SARIG.

Challenger Gold Mine

My responsibilities included mining geology tasks such as; backs mapping, core logging, face mapping, sampling face, sampling grab, sampling core, sludging, sludge chip logging, underground mining OH&S, driving 4WD’s underground, underground communications, using SURPAC, updating daily and weekly mining reports and many other mining office tasks. This was an immensely rewarding experience that gave me the confidence to pursue a career in Geology.
