I have practiced law since 1983 and since 1996 in my own firm. We guide and counsel our clients through their life and business choices to help them understand their risks and their opportunities to address their fears and achieve their goals.My background is based in computer science and programming and I prefer process and predictable and expected outcomes. I also believe in education and understanding the process and outcomes.I want clients of the firm to understand why they need our legal services as much as the intended outcome and the benefit to them. We spend a lot of time listening to all relevant facts and circumstances for the design of our legal solutions. We also enjoy taking the time guiding and educating our clients as to why we are recommending a particular design or solution.We also like to view our client’s situation a little beyond the typical limits of legal representation.Many years ago, I was confronted with the multiple challenges of dealing with aging parents, children getting ready to go to college, and beginning the planning for my retirement. Even though I was practicing “estate planning”, I did not feel that I had sufficient knowledge to effectively counsel clients about all of the choices and options available to them. I decided to study and obtain the CFP certification to give me a much broader understanding of personal financial planning, and estate planning. This was also a motivation for me to obtain an MBA degree at the same time as my law degree.
