Cat Thomas is a third-year MFA Directing Candidate at The University of South Carolina, Columbia. She holds a BFA in Theatre Arts Education from East Carolina University. She has her teaching certification in NC Theatre Arts K-12. She worked as a theatre arts educator at North Brunswick High School in Leland, NC for five years. In addition to directing and teaching, she has enjoyed playing numerous roles at The Brunswick Little Theatre in Southport, NC. She has some film experience working with Local Cinema Studios and Iris Indie International on their feature film, “Holy Irresistible”, as their script supervisor and assistant to the director. She is currently in DC working as an assistant to the director on Folger Theatre’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in association with The National Building Museum and The University of South Carolina. Past works with UofSC are “Constellations” (Director), “Romeo and Juliet”(Assistant Director), “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged” (Assistant Director), and “These Shining Lives” (Dramaturg). Other works include Greenroom Production’s “Gruesome Playground Injuries” (Director).
