About Catalina Martínez

I am passionate about the power of private capital as a force for good. I have had the privilege of working with leading investors, corporations, entrepreneurs, foundations, and academics on multiple impact investing topics, with a particular focus on climate and agriculture.I serve as Carbon Finance Manager at Tree Global, where our vision is to develop, finance, and implement the largest ecosystem restoration projects in the world. Previously, I was a Senior Consultant at FSG, and I also served as Head of Latin America at Blue Marble Microinsurance. I started my career as a Research Assistant at Zurich Insurance Group, working with the strategic asset allocation and responsible investment teams. I have also worked as an independent consultant for the ICRC, WEF, World Bank, ITC, and OECD.I am a Lecturer in Impact Investing at the Geneva Finance Research Institute of the University of Geneva. I was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Business School. I hold a PhD in Development Economics and a MA in International Economics from IHEID. I was trained as an economist and philosopher at Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, my home city in Colombia.
