About Mayank Bhaskar

Working as a Machine Learning Engineer/Consultant whose mission is to build the next generation of AI: ubiquitous, interactive intelligence that runs on multimodal data like audio, textual, and video with high throughput and low latency 💡 🧮On a typical day, I provide counsel to organizations in conjunction with AI researchers by posing challenging questions, critiquing their work, and solving their problems. Additionally, I am engaged in hosting and presenting at study groups, contributing to open-source projects, participating in Kaggle competitions, and numerous other activities ⌨️ ⚙Research interest includes anything that moves or in processing things that are on the audible spectrum and has recently been seduced by State Space Models (SSM), Multimodal models (audio, text, image, and video modalities including Vision Language Models), Transformers and their derivatives, Reinforcement Learning (RL), Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), Multilingual LLMs, amongst others, and their use-cases in solving self-driving autonomous systems including vehicles, drones, and robotics 🚀I have an applied AI experience from my past ~ worked on quantizing CV models from a lua based environment to an Apple based iOS/iPadOS on-device models. Furthermore, I have experience in training & fine-tuning computer vision based models & LLMs. In addition to that, I am currently working on pruning, sparsity & knowledge-distilling LLMs to compress them to smaller models that can be run on cloud with greater inference speeds, plus mobile & edge devices 🛠️From the Generative AI standpoint, I also work on RAGs and have open-source contributions in this space. I also helped develop a pipeline for transcription and diarization podcasts (via STT) using OpenAI's Whisper 🔊Customers need this in the retail space, content creation, media (podcasts, news & publishing), healthcare, gaming (storytelling via immersive voices), Avatars (voice agents with localized voices & accents), logistics, recruiting, sales & support, amongst others 🎨Connect with me on the socials and view my hobbies/interests:X ~ https://x.com/cataluna84Discord ~ https://discord.com/users/cataluna84 || @cataluna84GitHub ~ https://github.com/cataluna84LinkedIn ~ https://www.linkedin.com/in/cataluna84HuggingFace ~ https://huggingface.co/cataluna84Kaggle ~ https://www.kaggle.com/cataluna84Reddit ~ https://www.reddit.com/user/CATALUNA84Goodreads ~ https://www.goodreads.com/cataluna84StackOverflow ~ https://stackoverflow.com/users/2478346/mayank-bhaskarIMDB ~ https://www.imdb.com/user/ur27293649/ratings/

Using the Android Open Source Project (ASOP), I built a functioning version of Android from the ground up. This involved setting up and using many different tools to assemble a system image which was complete enough to include the Android kernel, as well as other essential parts like the OS, binaries, and all of the other features needed for a device to run Android. This was a long and enlightening project, during which I gained a great deal of experience with both Android and general OS assembly.I used the Gradle build system to develop REST-based Web Services and some sample apps for consuming data. In addition to that, I played around with Virtual Reality (VR) - via Google Cardboard SDK to build a couple of apps from scratch, getting 3D assets from the open-source Unity and Blender stores.
