  Catalyst Finance Partners Inc. was started in 2005 by Chris Waite. For the previous 5 years, he had previously worked with a publically traded finance company that focused on Vendor financing programs in the Canadian market place. Previous to that Chris had worked with Triad Systems out of Austin Texas. Triad had built it’s entire offering around an ROI model that was matched to a monthly lease payment because that is what it’s customers were looking for. From the beginning Catalyst took a different approach to the Vendor leasing market. One that was modeled after the Triad model. The goal was to create a stronger value proposition for equipment Vendors than was currently available in the Canadian market place.In 2006 the company added several internal resources to support the Vendor lease programs they were managing. Later in the year Catalyst implemented a customized ERP package to manage both the front end and the back end of its business. This system allowed the company to further enhance the Vendor offering as they could provide more critical sales and customer data to it partners.In 2007 Catalyst added several external sales people and started in manage or co-manage several large national leasing programs.In 2009 Peter Knight joined Catalyst as a principle. Peter’s funder and broker experience gave Catalyst a great deal of credibility in the marketplace. He also brought to the table a history of building vendor programs and the sales/support teams necessary to grow them.
