Initially hired in Aug. 2020 as a staff member in Baltimore City Schools, Tiffany serves as a rotation teacher for coding, Spanish and environmental science. Tiffany is independently contracted at Lakeland through their Lakeland Community and STEAM Center. Grant funding through USMF supports her role at the elementary/ middle school to provide education and support to the students in the Lakeland community in Baltimore.

Tiffany was offered to come back to the Living Classrooms Foundation at Masonville to join the education team and help support the day-to-day function of the Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center. In this position, Tiffany could be found at MCEEC assisting visitors, creating/ developing content for future lessons and activities, planning/ executing field trips, or assisting with the care of our building and on-site critters. When off-site, Tiffany could be found at one of our partnered sites or schools educating students (K-12) on a variety of topics in the environmental sciences, including plankton, runoff pollution, and water quality. From June to August, Tiffany led her own virtual classroom as part of LCF's BEESMART (Baltimore Environmental Education Summer Math and Reading Trailblazers) program.With the State of Emergency and Covid-19 restrictions put in place, Tiffany worked hard alongside the education coordinator to create and push out virtual content to our partnered schools, as well as, provide updates in the running of the MCEEC. Tiffany took part in the planning, creation and execution of providing STEAM "To-Go" Boxes to students in Baltimore City. These boxes came with materials and instructions for at home science activities. As a bonus to these boxes, Tiffany and the education team pieced together enthusiastic video instructions to keep students connected and engaged. As restrictions lifted, Tiffany took part in making sure the building was disinfected and proper measures were in place for social distancing.

Initially serving as a long-term substitute teacher at Lakeland Elementary/ Middle School teaching multiple third grade classes in the content area of writing: Planned and differentiated lesson plans, small groups and activities to meet students needs and adhere to their IEP (if applicable); Collaborated with team leads and resource teachers to support all learners and maximize instruction; Completed students first quarter progress reports. Responsibilities continued toward the third and fourth quarters as a long-term substitute for a resource class ranging in teaching grades K-8. Content taught was in the area of psychology, emphasizing self-awareness, self-worth, affirmations, teamwork and leadership.Additional responsibilities at the school includes:-- Substitute Teacher for all content areas Pre-k - 8th: Implementing lesson plans and followed the full-time teacher's instructions; Overseeing classroom activity and managed classroom behaviors; Attending all faculty/ staff trainings and meetings-- Support Staff Member: assisting in managing lunch duties; push-in classroom academic and behavioral support-- Front Office Staff: Creates a welcoming and safe environment for staff, students, and visitors; Implements basic clerical skills and knowledge of school and office practices and procedures that include the operation of standard office equipment; Provided administrative/ clerical support including filing and general correspondence;

This contracted role consisted of various tasks in a grassroots setting. In addition to the list provided below, Cook temporary served as an after-school instructor/ facilitator to the company's programs: - assisted DEO and CEO with administrative duties, initiatives, programs, and events- managed general accounts and prepared grant statements- networked and served as advocate for company's mission and vision- represented MRI in community events and professional development trainings- sought for future employees/ partnerships/ expansion opportunities (not limited to the origin area)- researched effective methods of teaching and classroom engagement to develop and enhance curriculum for organizational programming

CDF Freedom Schools servant leader interns are responsible for the front-line care and nurturing of the children. Using the Integrated Reading Curriculum, they serve as facilitators in the classroom and as leaders of parent workshops and community outreach activities.Additional responsibilities include: Lead morning community meetings in a high-energy and welcoming environment; Assist and/or lead afternoon enrichment activities varying in subject content; Chaperoning field trips; Setting up and breaking down assigned classroom spaces.I served three summers with this program: 2014, 2016, and 2017 at Lakeland Elementary/ Middle School.
