Strategic Analyst with QED Systems, LLC at Headquarters, Department of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7. Responsible for facilitating U.S. Army implementation of the Secretary of Defense’s Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response Action Plan (CHMR-AP). Responsibilities included drafting and staffing multiple information papers, an Army General Order, and an HQDA Execution Order; conducting operational analyses and improving business processes; developing and implementing multiple project management plans; and providing knowledge management support for the organization.

While awaiting client site access, conducted research and analysis to produce information papers and executive summaries on topics of interest to USCYBERCOM planning efforts.

Institutional Strategic Planner in the Office of Army Cemeteries (OAC). Responsible for the development, update, synchronization, and nesting of organizational strategy and campaign plans within the Army’s strategic guidance, leading and facilitating staff efforts for planning initiatives across the organization, leading and contributing to the drafting, staffing, and reviewing of federal and Army-level policy, supporting and contributing to Executive and Congressional engagements, hearings, and reports, and providing support to organizational public engagement, operations analysis, measurements and assessments, and joint and interagency integration. Duties also included direct management of the Arlington National Cemetery Commemorative Works Program, a Department of the Army statutory responsibility.

The Command and General Staff School, part of the Command and General Staff College, is a ten-month accredited program that provides a multidisciplinary graduate-level curriculum designed to to develop officers in the warfighting, historical, leadership, and decision-making expertise necessary to enable Army combined arms formations to successfully execute multi-domain unified land operations in contested environments against peer threats. Coursework includes military strategy, operations, and tactics, classic and modern military history, leadership theory and philosophy, organizational change management, and the military planning and decision-making processes. A combination of military art and science, the curriculum provides a balanced skillset of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis that touches myriad fields including psychology, sociology, culture, ethics, problem-solving, mathematics, physical sciences, engineering, industrial management, logistics, and communications and transportation technology.

Strategic Planner at United States Army North Headquarters Contingency Planning Division of the Policy and Plans Directorate. Served as lead planner for the Homeland Defense portfolio, responsible for drafting, coordinating, integrating with NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, exercising, and receiving approval of three operational contingency plans, supporting Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) planning and operations, and providing expertise on operational, strategic, and policy issues to the organization. Duties involved regular coordination with combatant commands, other military services, FEMA, DHS, CBP, USCIS, JIATF-South, and other government agencies, as well as Canadian Army and Air Forces, and Mexican Army forces.

The Basic Strategic Art Program (BSAP) is a rigorous 14-week graduate-level experience designed to provide officers designated into Functional Area 59 (Strategist) an introduction to strategy and the unique skills, knowledge, and attributes needed as a foundation for their progressive development as Army Strategists. BSAP consists of an integrated examination of strategic theory, strategic art, national security decision making, contemporary strategic challenges, and Joint and Army systems and Planning.

The Security Studies Program at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service is a multidisciplinary master’s degree designed to prepare graduates for positions within the defense and security fields. Students must complete 36 credits with material that includes Theory and Practice of Security, Grand Strategy and Military Operations, a series of courses from an area of concentration, one course in each of the Regional, Economics, and Technology areas, and three electives.

The Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, and Radiological (CBRN) Captain’s Career Course is a six-month course designed to develop and refine student skills and knowledge in the areas of leadership, training management, written and oral communications, Army operations (fundamentals and doctrine), staff procedures, CBRN defense fundamentals and doctrine, decontamination, reconnaissance, basic radiological safety, HAZMAT response, counter-WMD, consequence management, and threat actor doctrine and capabilities. Course included the following specialized classes: DOD Defense Support of Civil Authorities Course, National Response Framework (NRF) Training, National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training, Incident Command System (ICS) Training.

Staff Operations Officer for a world-wide deployable Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosives (CBRNE) Coordination Element (CCE) Team, 20th CBRNE Command. Responsible for providing CBRN technical expertise to customers, supporting staff planning efforts, participating in planning and operations working groups, building hazard models in support of domestic and overseas operations, and conducting WMD elimination operations as required in support of the team’s mission to provide CBRNE subject matter expertise, technical intelligence support, and communications across the full spectrum of operations.

Commander of Higher Headquarters Company, 22d Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Battalion (Technical Escort). Responsible for planning, resourcing, and supervising the execution of individual and collective training toward Soldier and mission readiness in support of the battalion’s domestic and world-wide mission requirements. Also responsible for sustaining accountability and mission readiness of equipment valued at just over $13 million and for the health, welfare, training, professional development, and discipline of 136 Soldiers, 2 Department of the Army civilians.

Assistant Operations Officer for the 22d Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Battalion (Technical Escort). Responsible for detailed coordination of resources and execution of contingency missions and battalion training events; conducting liaison operations with conventional and special operations forces, other government agencies, and foreign personnel; managing and disseminating regular operational guidance to the battalion; supervising maintenance and distribution of the battalion’s ammunition; receiving, tracking, and resourcing all battalion training requests; maintaining the organization’s long-range calendar; and coordinating regular organizational training meetings. Directly supervised three employees.

Team Leader of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Response Team in the 22d CBRNE Battalion (Technical Escort). Responsible for the training, readiness, command and control, and employment of a CBRNE Response Team that deploys world-wide as a task force to plan, prepare for, and execute WMD elimination operations; CBRNE incident response operations; and the detection, monitoring, packing, remediation of hazardous material in support of National Command Authority, combatant commanders, and other government agencies.
