Patient Safety And Least Restrictive Practice Lead
CurrentResponsible for oversight of the implementation of the patient safety strategy within the Charity.• Responsible for the implementation and review of the strategy that supports the reduction of restrictive interventions and application of safe practice that meets best practice and regulatory guidance.• Provide patient safety expertise/leadership within the Charity, demonstrating compassionate clinical leadership, visibility and the continued development of the patient safety culture.• Oversee and support patient safety improvement, ensuring that systems thinking, human factors understanding and just culture principles are embedded in patient safety processes, including least restrictive practice principles.• Utilise quality improvement methodology to lead and coach local improvement programmes linked to restrictive practices (i.e. programmes to reduce use or to meet certain standards).• Promote patient safety insight, incorporating understanding from a variety of patient safety intelligence, including incidents, investigations, mortality/morbidity reviews, clinical audits, positive experience, compliments and complaints, patient and staff surveys. Ensure information and intelligence from these sources is used as the basis to prioritise local patient safety development.• Lead multi-professional responses to patient safety incidents, and restrictive practices, tailoring the different approaches required for new or under recognised issues and wider patient challenges needing long-term improvement, ensuring adherence to national policies and enabling timely and good quality reporting.• In conjunction with key stakeholders, responsible for developing policy and practice.
