I was a student intern in the technical operation department at Janssen Sciences. As part of my college program, I have secured a 16-week internship at Janssen.I generate column evaluation data using Excel for the evaluation and installation of GDTA into mainstream product manufacture as an inline process.I participate in Technical Operations team activities, including weekly meetings/project meetings. I have interpreted the project plans, timelines, and scheduled work and strategies to achieve team goals during my internship. I have completed online training and assessments as assigned during the internship with no overdue.As part of the internship, I am a member of the Student Innovation project in collaboration with ‘Faster Forward’ and ‘Credo’ teams focusing on the “Patient Connect” project. From this project, the main objective was to strengthen the connection between the workforce at Janssen to the patient that rely on the drugs made onsite. As well as the patient connect, I have volunteered with the GenNow team to discuss the visibility of working from home and share my experience with themDuring the internship, I have actively participated in student event days such as the DISC personality test, student development day, and Microsoft skill training. Team building events such as escape rooms were held during my internship at Janssen.The experience at Janssen helped my to better develop and appreciate the skills I have learned during my college course from data handling and prioritization from the different project as I became involved with. My experience of communication, teamwork and self-initiative from my time as a retail sales assistant and a sailing instructor were strengthened from the internship.

I am a retail assistant at the outdoor shop, Wild Side Sports. I have conducted sales on various products such as wetsuits, walking, and hiking boots, technical clothing, camping equipment, and casual wear in a friendly and professional manner. I restocked products on the floor before and during the day to maintain enough product available for sale. I was trained to adhere to and implemented the Covid-19 guidelines and rules established for the retail industry such as the maximum number of customers allowed in a shop, quarantining of clothes that were tried on, regular cleaning scheme of the workplace, and the mandatory wearing of face mask within the shop.The team in the shop was friendly, enthusiastic, and keen into the products for sale. This made it easy to learn all the technical details of each product as well as the pros and cons of each model. The team was driven on communication and teamwork Due to Covid-19 restricting holidays outside of Ireland, state nation holidays increased the demand for outdoor products, especially kayaks and wetsuits. This was a great opportunity for me to use my experience as a sailing and water sports instructor to conduct sales of water orientated equipment such as wetsuits to customers for whom this was their first wetsuit. I happily explained the differences in wetsuits and what one the customer should consider purchasing. Working at the shop also gave a great opportunity to learn about other items and outdoor sports I wasn’t accustomed to. I was showed and shadowed sales of hiking shoes, backpacks, and technical layers. I can now conduct sales of hiking equipment on my own but still happy to ask my work colleagues for help in more technical products

The Village, Glengarriff

I was a waiter for the Bistro and the Mc Carthy bar at the Glengarriff park hotel. I served drinks and food in both areas. I took orders, restock various items, cleaned and set up tables for customers in a quick and effective manner and delivered a friendly and professional experience for the customersThe team at the Hotel were friendly and professional in their roles. Teamwork and good communications were the key driving force behind the success of the restaurant and bar.I had many opportunities to worked with international visitors during their stay at the hotel. It was a great experience meeting and talking to them about their own history from their home country as well as talking about Irish history and lifestyles. Irish Sport was the biggest talking point and I happily explained the rules of both hurling and Gaelic Football to them.
