If asked to describe myself in a word, I would choose versatile... I began my career at SAIC in Human Resources as the primary point of contact for all employees from his/her first interview, to new hire orientation, through exit interview or transfer. I love HR and was not looking to leave, but serendipitous events led me onto a direct charge contract where I was able to gain experience in technical writing and editing, budget tracking and reporting, and earned value methodologies.I've been itching to get back to work for a while now as my child is in school, but I've had difficulty finding a position in my industry that does not require an active security clearance. Instead of getting discouraged, I decided to complete the Cyber Defense Certificate offered by Harford Community College in order to make myself more marketable, and what a great experience! I finished the program in December and am currently preparing for the Security+ certification exam.
