If anyone had told me 15 years ago that I would be working in the accounting field, I would have laughed at them, but here I am and loving it. Numbers are dependable, and I find it so rewarding at the end of the day to balance the books. Give me a set of reports, and spreadsheets that are out of balance and see me light up. Don't get the idea that I am just interested in numbers because I am passionate about animals, the environment and living as closely with nature as I can, but lets be honest that doesn't pay the bills.I was late entering this career path, as I followed my then husband around the country as he followed his career. During this time I am most proud of the time I worked as an EMT in New York, and as Veterinary Technician. This taught me how to listen and interpret what the actual problem is, a great help when working with team members who have trouble articulating what they mean. Raising two boys while moving around the country, and volunteering for their school and extracurricular activities, enabled me to become accomplished in time management, communication, and conflict resolution while dealing, not with the children, but with their parents.I am constantly trying out new ideas to see if I can streamline the work process, using online technology to learn new skills, and then applying them if appropriate. If I do not know how to do something I will go and find out how to do it. I love excel and I am constantly increasing my knowledge with online "how to" videos. I love anything to do with the outdoors, I read avidly and enjoy building things with my hands. I have trained 5 dogs though I am by no means a professional, and volunteer for a local wildlife sanctuary.Moving to Colorado has been an incredible experience and I have been lucky enough to find a fantastic company to work with, where I am expanding my knowledge of SAP systems and working with an amazing and supportive group of people.
