Catherin has 6 years of experience fundraising in the nonprofit sector and holds a Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from Christ University, Bangalore. Being passionate about the causes supported by NGO's, Catherin helped design, develop and execute industry wide fundraising strategies for Make A Difference - an organization that works toward providing equitable outcomes to children living in shelter homes. As Director of Corporate Fundraising there, she able to bridge the gap in skills needed to bring financial backing for MAD's humanitarian projects. She was also able to implement process around building team structures, donor retention and engagement and on volunteer management methods that are applicable across multiple social issues by various NGO's.Catherin found opportunity with one of India's best run NGO's - The Akshaya Patra Foundation. Her role as Manager of the Corporate Fundraising division allowed her to bring multi-national corporations into fundraising engagements across India.Being a hands on person, Catherin also dedicated 5 years of on the ground volunteering efforts as an English teacher. This experience helped her better understand the challenges faced by NGO's in design and execution of projects. Her experience has helped develop process around strategizing and operationalizing effective and efficient methodology around delivery on corporation and foundation expectations in the fundraising area. It brings in long term investment to the overall solution even for short term projects. This broad scope of experience has helped her build expertise in community building, interpersonal skills, project management and building low-stress, strong, working cross functional teams.Catherin also maintains a blog focusing on fundraising frameworks for the benefit of others. She aims at making more sustainable fundraising models for NGO's across the world so they focus on what they do best, which is helping the beneficiary.
