About Catherine Back
I am currently a Post-doc at the University of Bristol working on developing and adapting naturally found enzymes for the production of novel, useful compounds, using protein engineering. In particular I am focussing on the Diels-Alderase enzymes produced by marine bacteria in the production of anti-infectives. I have expertise in microbiology and structural biology, particularly x-ray crystallography.
