About Catherine Biggs

I am a strong advocate for learning as a positive vehicle for change and I am using my skills and experiences to help, support and make a positive impact through patient and public involvement and education trustee roles. I really shine in a people centred environment that requires strategic thinking and collaboration to address complex challenges. I believe better solutions are designed, implemented and sustained, when a diverse range of voices are heard. With 20 years experience in Higher Education, I am able to initiate, fund raise and manage the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary and multi-partner projects which have positively impacted on students, staff, the advancement of education and research. My ability to be decisive and accountable within a dynamic environment is enhanced by my practical problem solving, strong analytical and implementation skills. I am proud of my enviable ability to build relationships and engender trust. I am naturally curious about what other people think and therefore actively seek others to work with to develop and implement new and exciting ideas. Some of my best achievements have been through collaboration. I am a great listener, and really enjoy a chat over coffee, which works well with my open, consultative and inclusive style of working.
