Leads the design, development and implementation of the Technology Enhanced Learning strategy for Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. (2014 - 2017). The TEL Strategy provided a cohesive, sustainable and evidence-based implementation plan for building TEL capacity and blended learning solutions for existing and new programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level at RCSI. The role focuses on working with academics and health professionals to meet the challenges of enhancing existing teaching, learning and research strategies with TEL. Advises on designing, developing and implementing effective and relevant online learning programmes.

Ensuring best practice pedagogies and technologies to promote active participation in learning combined with critical evaluation. Rolling out methodologies that facilitating curriculum alignment, project-based learning & assessment, promoting teamwork and collaborative working methods, Nurturing creativity and techniques for creative problem-solving, encouraging peer learning, fostering the conditions to support continuous professional development. Guiding platform development - VLE (moodle v.2.4), digital media (video lectures, podcasts, interactive tutorials) and Interactive lecture sessions (video conferencing systems, webinars, expert panel sessions) along with continuous, peer and project based assessment - to achieve the goal of appropriately delivering learning content and thus creating great and fulfilling educational experiences

Coordinated and managed a national service for digital learning for Irish Higher Education, from inception as a pilot project (2006 – 2009) that transitioned to a full national service (2009 – 2012). Directed the overall strategy of the service and led a core team and executive of 21 Institutional Coordinators and Academics from Irish HEIs. Devised national programme for Academic Professional Development (APD), set the research agenda for the service resulting in approximately 400 national and international collaborations and approximately 45 publications, designed the performance metrics and benchmarks to evaluate evidence base for service strategy to align with national policy (Hunt Report, GovIrel and National Research Prioritisation strategy) and. Consultation and national representative for Ireland at EU.

Supported educators with enhancing their teaching with good practice pedagogy and sound educational technology solutions to enhance the student learning experience; engaged in research-led-teaching across all subject areas, design and implement innovative learning through learning technology. Contributed to Institutional Strategy for eLearning at TCD. Other duties included curriculum design, instructional design, teaching, consultation, research and evaluation of the design and ‘curriculum fit’ of e-learning resources for HE teaching.
