Current- Analyzed and interpreted high-throughput genomic and biomedical data- Designed, developed and deployed robust workflows, as well as custom scripts, to analyze high-throughput data, with emphasis on next-generation sequencing data (e.g. bisulfite-converted whole genomes).- Directed the implementation of a specific workflow that led to a 10x improvement in CPU-hours.- Developed these workflows on both cloud-based infrastructures and local clusters.- Mined proprietary and public biological data/database to generate novel hypotheses or insights- Built and managed proprietary biological databases (enriched NGS data).- Trained and supervised a team of physicians, bioinformaticians, & molecular biologists (BS to MD/PhD level).- Co-led complex, NIH-funded research projects with principal investigators at top-tier universities (e.g. Columbia University).- Wrote manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Genome Biology, Blood, Bioinformatics, etc.) & answered reviewers’ questions.- Co-wrote grant applications for NIH resulting in high scores or funding.
