I’m ready to broaden my horizons past teaching and join the corporate world. I’m looking for the right opportunity to use the skills I’ve developed as a teacher to build my next career.Strategic Thinking: I am an expert at creating an overall educational strategy that meets the needs of each student. I evaluated each child in the context of the skills they needed to develop to access learning. This required a broad understanding of the child, school system, and additional resources available to help that child succeed.Project Management: In special education, each child is a critical project, with their own unique style of learning, personality, special resources, daily classroom schedule, goals, and data points. I was responsible for the whole puzzle while teaching 3 grade levels daily.Client Success and Communication: Communicating clearly with parents, school and district administrators, teachers, and other educational professionals was critical to delivering appropriate accommodations and instruction to my students.Leadership: I led a classroom team of 4 adults, including assistants and interpreters. This entailed developing a single vision for how to work with students and each other, creating schedules for each staff member, and coaching.Multi-tasking: I juggled multiple requirements, including the needs of the students, curriculum, and school administration while delivering multiple levels of instruction at the same time in the same room. Yes, I really did this.Data Analytics: My job also required a deep understanding of how to define and develop data points, collecting data based on those points, analyzing the results, and using them to inform my instruction - for each child.Attention to Detail: The thread running through my success is my attention to detail. I enjoyed deploying my command of all the details around my students’ needs to develop and deliver inclusive, appropriate, comprehensive instruction leading to exceptional results for my students.
