As the first book conservator awarded this Research Scholarship, I am studying the physical performance of three non-synthetic adhesives commonly used in the conservation of photograph albums. I hope that this research will advance the preservation of photographic cultural heritage by allowing conservators to make more informed decisions when repairing albums and other books with moderately brittle papers. I continue to assist the Department of Photograph Conservation with exhibition preparation and installations, I perform conservation treatments on paper-based and photographic artworks, and I implement our Department's integrated pest management (IPM) program. Led by my fellowship supervisor, Associate Conservator of Books, Georgia Southworth, I am also assisting with an ongoing preservation survey of over 1,000 photograph-bearing books held by The Met’s Department of Photographs.

Assisted in the rehousing of a collection of cased ambrotype portraits (mid-19th century) and with the dis-binding of a deteriorated volume of 18th century family letters and documents. Humidification, flattening and paper repairs were carried out before housing the documents in folders, rendering them safely accessible for future research.

Re-housing a large collection of vellum scrolls which vary widely in condition, size, and weight. The project's goal was to house the collection as safely and efficiently as possible, prior to its transportation to off-site storage.Surveying, measuring, ordering custom enclosures, cutting custom ethafoam supports for over 100 scrolls.

Assisted as part of a grant-funded team to prepare 19th Century street maps of Brooklyn for digitization. The team surface cleaned, humidified and flattened 1,000 brittle, canvas-backed maps, and managed to consolidate 10% of the collection.
