CurrentIndependent Consultant and Deployable Civilian Expert for the UK Government’s Office for Conflict, Stabilisation and Mediation. Areas of expertise include rule of law, security and justice, peacebuilding, conflict prevention, technical assistance, conflict-sensitivity, community security and arms control. Specialising in monitoring and evaluation, programme design, theories of change, conflict analysis, political economy analysis, training and facilitation, organisational learning and strategic planning. Work undertaken to date includes:Lead Evaluator for a thematic evaluation for HMG's Global Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) Portfolio.Technical adviser and MEL Systems Lead within the Global MEL Partnership providing support to the UK Government's Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF). Supported HMG officials to develop the CSSF's fund-level outcomes and result areas.Leading the development of a planning, learning and results framework for a large multinational law firm's initiative to improve wellbeing within poor communities in East Africa through a partnership approach.Leading a mid-term review of Saferworld's peacebuilding programmes in Sudan and Somalia. I provided guidance and oversight to country-level evaluation teams, and led a review of how learning and evidence is generated, applied and disseminated within and beyond the two programmes.An evaluation of the John Smith Trust’s FCO-funded programme, which promotes good governance, rule of law and social justice in Central Asia and Wider Europe. Authoring a paper on 'Judicial Peer-to-Peer Learning to Strengthen the Rule of Law', for Advocates for International Development.A case study evaluation of ROLE UK’s support to a partnership between the Nigerian Bar Association and the Bar Human Rights Committee. Authoring guidance and delivering training on ‘Maximising the Relevance and Effectiveness of Technical Assistance in Support of the Rule of Law’, for ROLE UK.
